Begin with the essentials

Pack clothes you can move in, shoes suitable for the session, water and your access pass. A small towel may be required. Check whether the gym supplies towels, drinking water and locker keys before buying extras.

Plan around your day

If you go directly to work, bring a clean change of clothes and basic toiletries. Keep wet items separate and unpack the bag afterwards. A small bag that fits the locker is usually more convenient than carrying every possible accessory.

Wait on specialist accessories

Belts, straps, gloves and specialist shoes serve different purposes. They are not an automatic beginner shopping list. Learn what your training requires and ask a qualified trainer before purchasing something intended to change how you lift.

Make packing repeatable

Keep a written list inside the bag until packing becomes routine. Check your bottle, pass and any booking confirmation before leaving. Replace worn items when needed, but avoid treating a bigger equipment collection as a requirement for getting started.

Take this with you
